Correlations in Nuclear Arrhenius-Type Plots

چکیده
Arrhenius-type plots for multifragmentation process, defined as the transverse energy dependence of the single-fragment emission-probability, (ln(1/pb) vs 1/ √ Et), have been studied by examining the relationship of the parameters pb and Et to the intermediate-mass fragment multiplicity 〈n〉. The linearity of these plots reflects the correlation of the fragment multiplicity with the transverse energy. These plots may not provide thermal scaling information about fragment production as previously suggested. Typeset using REVTEX 1 About a hundred years ago, the Swedish chemist Svante Arrhenius discovered that the rate of chemical reactions increases with temperature [1]. Specifically, the chemical reaction rate constant (k) is related to the absolute temperature (T ) by

Z-dependent Barriers in Multifragmentation from Poissonian Reducibility and Thermal Scaling
We explore the natural limit of binomial reducibility in nuclear multifragmentation by constructing excitation functions for intermediate mass fragments (IMF) of a given element Z. The resulting multiplicity distributions for each window of transverse energy are Poissonian. Thermal scaling is observed in the linear Arrhenius plots made from the average multiplicity of each element. “Emission ba...
متن کاملArrhenius Plots Indicate Localization of Photosynthetic and Respiratory Electron Transport in Different Membrane Regions of A nabaena
Photosynthesis, Respiration, Blue-Green Algae, Arrhenius Plots, Phase Transition Temperatures Photosynthetic and respiratory electron-transport reactions by the blue-green alga, Anabaena variabilis, exhibit a strict temperature dependence in vivo as well as in the cell-free system. The ratio of respiratory oxygen uptake in the dark and oxygen evolution in the light is high after growth at low t...
متن کاملTemperature dependence of rotational dynamics of protein and lipid in sarcoplasmic reticulum membranes.
We have investigated the relationship between function and molecular dynamics of both the lipid and the Ca-ATPase protein in sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR), using temperature as a means of altering both activity and rotational dynamics. Conventional and saturation-transfer electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) was used to probe rotational motions of spin-labels attached either to fatty acid hydroc...
متن کاملCOMPUTER PROGRAMS TO MODEL 4°Ar/39Ar DIFFUSION DATA FROM MULTIDOMAIN SAMPLES
-Computer programs in FORTRAN 77 that calculate age spectra, Arrhenius plots, and log (r/ro) plots to manually model 4°Ar/39Ar diffusion data from multidomain samples are presented. Using these programs, one also can estimate the domain distribution parameters and cooling history (CH) by fitting the experimental data. The estimates are calculated iteratively starting from data obtained from the...
متن کاملHaving a Distribution of Diffusion Domain Sizes
Many 4øAr/39Ar age spectra for alkali feldspars are significantly different from the model age spectra calculated for slowly cooled samples composed of diffusion domains of a single size, and the Arrhenius plots for these samples show departures from linearity that are inconsistent with diffusion from domains of equal size. The most plausible explanation for these discrepancies is the existence...
